Services: St Regis Logistics (formerly known as AAG)

The fact that our distribution operation is wholly owned and controlled by St Regis is a big advantage. It means we can work to the highest standards of modern logistics to get the paper where it needs to be, when it needs to be there.

We have111 vehicles and 500 trailers at our disposal and a network of 14 logistics depots across the UK. In total, St Regis Logistics manages over 20,000 square metres of warehousing space.

It uses the latest technologies to track shipments of paper and our skilled drivers act as great ambassadors for our company.

The transport operation has a long history. With over forty years experience within the paper and packaging distribution industry, St Regis Logistics / AAG has a long and distinguished track record supporting our mills and providing our customers with one of the best and most reliable distribution services in the UK.

History of St Regis Logistics

AAG can trace its origins back to the mid 1930’s when Alfred Griggs started a transport company with just two vehicles. The company was based in Soham and provided a service to local farmers, transporting sugar beet to the processing factories and cut flowers to the markets in London. In the 1960s, Alfred Grigg’s son, Tony, joined the Company which became involved in the packaging industry for the first time, providing transport for Tillotsons Corrugated Cases.

In 1958 Tillotsons started the Burwell packaging operation, followed by Monmouth in 1963, Launceston in 1969 and Ely in 1970 (all of these companies are now in the DS Smith Packaging Division). As St Regis began acquiring mills from the 1970s onwards, AAG was brought in to provide transportation between the mills and their customers.

As AAG developed in both size and scope, in 2005 it was decided to rename it St Regis Logistics. Now, our lorries in their smart livery, can be seen all over Great Britain proclaiming “St Regis – raising the standard for papermaking”.
